Dr. Kundell is a native of Southern California. His undergraduate education was at UCLA, and he attended medical school at UCSD. Internship and residency were at Children's Hospital in Seattle. He also completed a one year Fellowship in Behavioral Pediatrics in Seattle under an NIMH Grant. He was Board certified in Pediatrics in 1980, with last recertification in 2010.
In addition to practicing general pediatrics, he has had an area of focus in developmental and behavioral pediatrics. He consulted at Tri-County Regional Center for several years, and continues to consult at the California Children's Services medical therapy unit in Thousand Oaks. He is a fellow of the American Academy Pediatrics and of the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine.
Dr. Kundell has been happily married to Suzie for 40 years. He has two adult children, both professional artists, and one delightful granddaughter. He is an avid hiker and photographer, having completed the 220 mile John Muir Trail in 2011 (in 19 days). Pictures from that hike can be seen here.
